Communication is how we connect with the world.
Communication is how we connect with the world.
The Therapy It focuses on the assessment and support of communication, language, speech, and language development skills.
At the Specialized Treatment Center, with locations in Geraka, Attica and to the Lagkada, Thessaloniki, we treat each person as an individual. The intervention is tailored to each person’s age, needs, abilities, and personal goals.
When might a speech-language evaluation be necessary?
A parent may seek an evaluation when they notice:
- Delayed speech development — the child speaks less or later than his or her peers
- Difficulties with articulation and speech — does not pronounce clearly; is not understandable
- Difficulties in understanding or expressing oneself
- Stuttering or speech flow disorders
- Difficulties that affect academic, social, or daily functioning
An evaluation does not necessarily mean that long-term treatment will be needed. Its primary goal is to understand what each person needs.
How does the process work?
- Initial Contact — We discuss the concerns and needs that have been identified with the family or with the adult themselves.
- Evaluation — An assessment of the relevant skills is conducted in a manner tailored to the individual’s age and needs.
- Update — We present the results and discuss the next steps with the family.
- Personalized intervention — If deemed necessary, a treatment plan with specific goals is developed.
- Tracking Progress — Progress is monitored, and the schedule is adjusted accordingly.

Treatment doesn't end in the exam room
Communication is part of everyday life. That is why we consider it important to work together with parents and, when necessary, with other professionals involved in the child's life.
Speech therapy is often combined with occupational therapy or special treatment, depending on each person's needs.
The goal is for the skills developed during therapy to be put to use in everyday life.
